KPK Seizes Cash in Sting Operation Against Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya

Jakarta, Kompas.com — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized cash during a sting operation (OTT) that ensnared Cilacap Regent, Central Java Province, Syamsul Auliya Rachman, on Friday (13 March 2026).

“The evidence secured in this sting operation includes cash; the amount will be updated later,” said KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo at the Red and White Building, Jakarta, Friday.

Budi stated that the KPK arrested 27 people in the operation, consisting of the Cilacap Regent, civil servants, and private parties.

“The team will conduct further investigations and bring them to the KPK Red and White Building,” he said.

Budi said the sting operation related to alleged payments received by the Cilacap Regent connected to projects at the regency administration.

“Related to the closed investigation activities today in Cilacap, there are allegations of payments made by the regent concerning projects in Cilacap Regency,” he stated.

In this sting operation, the KPK arrested Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

“Yes, the Cilacap Regent was arrested,” confirmed KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when contacted by Kompas.com, Friday.
