KPK Seizes Cash During Raid on Tulungagung Regent

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized a quantity of cash during a sting operation (OTT) in the Tulungagung Regency Government, East Java.

“In this operation, the team also secured evidence including cash,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Saturday (11/4/2026).

The OTT was carried out on Friday (10/4/2026), apprehending 18 people. Thirteen of them have been brought to Jakarta for further examination.

“The thirteen people brought to Jakarta are the Regent, eleven from the Tulungagung Regency Government, and one other party,” Budi added.

Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo arrived at 06.50 WIB. The other twelve arrived at the KPK around 13.48 WIB.

Before being transported to Jakarta, those caught in the OTT were first examined at the Tulungagung Police Resort Police Headquarters.

To date, the KPK has not disclosed the identities of the 17 people arrested alongside Gatut.
