Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized a number of documents and cash after searching the Central Java Provincial Representative Office of the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) and two homes belonging to related parties on 22 October 2026.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the anti-graft agency seized the cash during its search of the Central Java BPK office.

“During the search at the Central Java BPK office, investigators found and seized cash worth hundreds of millions of rupiah,” Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Friday.

He said the KPK seized several documents from the three locations as part of its continuing investigation into an alleged corruption case involving suspended Klaten Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo.

“During the searches, investigators secured and seized several documents and electronic evidence believed to be related to alleged bribes paid to remove BPK audit findings in Klaten Regency,” he said.

The case began when the KPK conducted a sting operation on 15 October 2026, arresting Hamenang, Central Java BPK Representative Office head Ahmad Luthfi H Rahmatullah and 21 other people.

On 16 October 2026, the KPK announced that Hamenang, Ahmad Luthfi and Muhammad Amin Wahyu Utomo, a private-sector party from PT Madani Winasis Creative, were suspects in an alleged corruption case within the Klaten Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal years.

The KPK has also said the alleged corruption involved five strands, including alleged bribes to influence BPK audits, procurement of goods and services, permits for class C mining, payments from regional government agencies or work units, and payments related to tax collection fees.
