KPK Seizes Car and Financial Transaction Records in Kuansing Sting Operation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a car and electronic evidence of financial transactions during a sting operation (OTT) in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. “The team also seized electronic evidence in the form of financial transactions in this caught-in-the-act incident,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at his office in Jakarta on Tuesday. “Additionally, the team secured one four-wheeled vehicle.”
A total of ten people were arrested in the silent operation. Nine were detained in Kuansing Regency, while one was arrested in Jakarta. Following initial examinations, investigators decided to bring five of the suspects to the KPK’s Merah Putih building. The group consists of three private sector individuals, one civil servant from Kuansing Regency, and a family member of a state official in the district.
“This case is suspected to be related to alleged bribery for a position within the Kuansing Regency administration,” Budi stated. He also urged Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby and Regional Secretary Zulkarnaen to cooperate and turn themselves in. “The KPK calls on the regent and regional secretary of Kuansing to be cooperative and surrender, as their statements are needed in the ongoing legal process at the KPK,” he added.
