KPK Seizes Alphard Allegedly Used as Bribe for West Lombok Regent
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a Toyota Alphard suspected of being a bribe from a businessman to West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini. The black vehicle was seen fitted with a KPK seal.
In a photo received on Thursday, July 23, 2026, the Alphard is visible. The KPK stated the car was allegedly a bribe from Alvonsus Gani, a private sector party. The vehicle was initially seized during a sting operation at Lalu Ahmad’s residence and is now being held at the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) headquarters in West Nusa Tenggara.
“One of the items seized in this operation is a Toyota Alphard, which Regent LAZ allegedly received from ALG, a private party, in connection with projects at PT AMGM,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo. “The car was secured during the sting operation at the regent’s house and subsequently taken to the Brimob headquarters,” he added.
The KPK has also conducted searches in West Lombok related to the case. However, Budi has not yet detailed what else was seized. “Investigators carried out searches to find additional evidence after the KPK named the parties as suspects in this case. The search is still ongoing, and we will provide updates on its progress,” he stated.
The KPK previously named West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini a suspect in a corruption case involving project manipulation and bribe acceptance. The total alleged receipts are estimated at Rp 12.4 billion in cash and goods.
“Based on valid preliminary evidence, the KPK has elevated this case to the investigation stage and named three individuals as suspects,” said Acting Director of Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein during a press conference at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Tuesday, July 21.

Lalu Ahmad Zaini, Regent of West Lombok
