Jakarta — Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized 610 million rupiah in cash during a sting operation in Cilacap Regency. The money was allegedly intended to be distributed by Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman to the Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Coordination Forum) as an Eid bonus (THR).

“In addition, the team also secured digital evidence and cash totalling 610 million rupiah,” said Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the KPK, during a press conference at KPK headquarters on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

The cash was seized from the residence of Ferry Adhi Dharma, Assistant II to the Cilacap Regent. Ferry was one of those instructed by Syamsul to collect the Eid bonus funds from regional government work units (SKPD) throughout Cilacap.

The KPK has designated Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardono as suspects in an alleged extortion case related to the Eid bonus distribution.

According to Asep, Syamsul ordered his subordinates to collect Eid bonus funds to be distributed to the Forkopimda within the Cilacap local government. Based on Syamsul’s calculations, the external Eid bonus required 515 million rupiah. However, he set a collection target of 750 million rupiah.

By the time the sting operation was conducted, 610 million rupiah had already been collected from the requested Eid bonuses.

Syamsul and Sadmoko have been immediately detained at KPK detention for the next 20 days.
