KPK Seizes 6 Items of Evidence During Examination of Faizal Assegaf in Customs Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized six units of evidence during the examination of Faizal Assegaf, Director of PT Sinkos Multimedia Mandiri, as a witness on 7 April. The evidence is suspected to be related to the alleged corruption case in the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, which is currently being investigated by the KPK. “As far as I recall, there are 6 items that were seized from the person,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at his office in Jakarta on Tuesday (14/4). The evidence includes electronic evidence (BBE). The KPK plans to reveal details of the seized evidence on Wednesday (15/4). “There are several electronic devices, and according to the needs of our colleagues, we plan to show the seized items tomorrow,” Budi stated. During the examination, Budi conveyed that Faizal admitted to investigators that he had received the items from one of the suspects. Based on that, the investigators carried out the seizure. “Of course, the investigators have strong arguments to then deepen the material with a witness, especially to the point of seizing items controlled by the person. And in that examination, it should be underlined that the person has admitted to the investigators, which then led to the seizure of those items,” Budi explained. This examination forms the background for Faizal reporting Budi to the Metro Jaya Police for alleged defamation on Tuesday (14/4). The police report made by Faizal is registered under number: LP/B/2592/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA. In addition to Faizal, on 7 April 2026, the KPK also summoned Customs and Excise employees named Muhammad Mahzun and Rahmat for examination as witnesses. The examination of these three individuals is to complete the case files for seven suspects in the alleged bribery case for goods importation and gratifications. They are former Director of Investigation and Enforcement of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise for the period 2024-January 2026, Rizal; Head of Subdirectorate of Enforcement Intelligence and Investigation of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Kasubdit Intel P2 DJBC) Sisprian Subiaksono. Then, Head of Customs and Excise Intelligence Section of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Kasi Intel DJBC) Orlando; Chairman of the Import Document Team of PT Blueray, Andri; Customs and Excise Directorate General employee Budiman Bayu Prasojo; owner of PT Blueray named John Field; and Operational Manager of PT Blueray Dedy Kurniawan.
