KPK Seizes 6 Items During Examination of Faizal Assegaf, Including Electronic Devices
The KPK seized a total of six items during the examination of Faizal Assegaf as a witness in the importation case at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance. The KPK stated that it would detail the seized items from Faizal Assegaf tomorrow.
“As far as I recall, there are six items seized from the individual. Up to now, they are still in the form of physical goods. The details tomorrow, there are several electronic devices,” explained KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/4/2026).
Budi revealed that Faizal also admitted to investigators that the seized items were gifts from one of the corruption suspects in the Directorate General of Customs and Excise case. Based on that, the investigators immediately carried out the seizure.
“Regarding the examination of allegations of receiving goods or facilities by the individual, he has also admitted it to the investigators, and the goods received by the individual have also been seized by the investigators,” Budi stated.
KPK Spokesperson Unfazed by Report to Metro Police
Faizal himself has just reported KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to the Metro Jaya Police, deeming the statements made to be steering accusations that he is involved in the importation case at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance. Budi admitted he has no issue with the report.
“Of course, we see no problem with it,” Budi explained to reporters at the KPK Merah Putih building, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/4).
It is known that Faizal Assegaf reported Budi Prasetyo to the Metro Jaya Police for alleged defamation. Faizal believes Budi’s statements steered accusations that he is involved in the importation case at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.
“I came as a citizen to fight for my rights as a citizen, against the KPK spokesperson for spreading defamatory news, public lies, sociology in the issues occurring in the handling of Customs and Excise,” Faizal said to reporters on Tuesday (14/4).
The report was registered with number STTLP/B/2592/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA. Faizal said the issue arose on Tuesday (7/4) when he was asked for statements and clarifications regarding the case.
“On 7 April, I was called to be questioned, clarified, and presented with five questions,” he explained.
He said the examination was completed in 30 minutes. He claimed there was no involvement in receiving goods in the Customs and Excise importation case.
“There is no involvement of friends receiving this assistance in the Customs and Excise crime case. Then as a political critic, as an activist, I was asked for my opinion. A long discussion took place,” he explained.
