KPK Secures 27 People in Cilacap Operation, 13 Brought to Jakarta

Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained 27 individuals during an operation in Cilacap Regency, Central Java on Friday, 13 March 2026. Of this number, 13 people have been brought to Jakarta for further investigation at KPK’s Red and White Building headquarters.

“Those brought consist of the Regent, the Regional Secretary, and other structural officials within the Cilacap Local Government,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

The regional officials arrived at KPK’s Red and White Building on Saturday morning. “They arrived at the KPK building at approximately 02:35 Western Indonesian Time,” he said.

In this case, Syamsul and other officials are suspected of receiving money related to projects within the Cilacap Regency Government. The KPK has also seized cash evidence, though the amount and origin have not yet been disclosed. The office of the Deputy Regional Secretary of Cilacap, located in a single complex, has also been sealed by the KPK.
