KPK Secures 21 People in Sting Operation Against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro

Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has secured 21 people across Jakarta, Pemalang and Purworejo in a sting operation (OTT) that ensnared Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said that of the 21 people secured, five were arrested in Jakarta, 15 in Pemalang and one in Purworejo.

“In connection with this sting operation, the team secured a total of 21 people. Five were secured in Jakarta, 15 in Pemalang, and one in Purworejo,” Budi told reporters on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.

Budi said one of the parties secured in the operation was Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.

Of the 21 people secured, the KPK has scheduled follow-up questioning of 12 people at the KPK’s Red and White Building.

At present, the five people secured in Jakarta are already at the Red and White Building, while six people from Pemalang and one from Purworejo are scheduled to arrive on Wednesday afternoon and evening to undergo questioning.

Earlier, KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed that the anti-corruption agency had carried out a sting operation against the Pemalang Regent.

The operation is the KPK’s 18th sting operation so far in 2026.

The KPK has 24 hours from the time of arrest to determine the legal status of those secured, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). (Ant)
