KPK Secures 16 Individuals in Raid on Tulungagung Regent

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a sting operation (OTT) in Tulungagung, East Java. A total of 16 people were secured by the KPK in this operation, including Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo. “It is true, tonight the KPK conducted a covert investigation activity in the East Java region. The team secured a number of 16 people, one of whom is the Regent of Tulungagung,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Friday (10/4/2026). Budi has not yet detailed who else was caught in the KPK OTT. According to him, the KPK team is still in the field. “The team is still in the field at the moment. We will continue to update the developments,” he said. Budi also has not explained what case the KPK OTT is related to. The KPK has 1x24 hours to announce the status of the parties caught in the OTT. Previously, KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed the OTT in Tulungagung. Fitroh also confirmed that one of the parties caught in the OTT is Gatut Sunu. “It is true (OTT in Tulungagung),” said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when contacted on Friday (10/4). “Yes (the Regent was secured),” he added.
