The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continued its series of searches related to an alleged corruption case involving the inactive West Lombok Regent, Lalu Ahmad Zaini (LAZ). On Thursday evening (23/7/2026), investigators searched two of his private homes located in the Gumi Selaparang Asri housing complex, Gunungsari District, West Lombok.

The first house searched was at Block P Number 1, followed by a second house at Block M Number 18 within the same complex. The KPK team arrived at the first location at approximately 8:20 p.m. local time and moved to the second house around 9:00 p.m. During the searches, access to both properties was strictly guarded by West Lombok Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) personnel, while neighbours gathered outside the gates to observe the activity.

LAZ’s wife, Ayu Indra Rukmana, was present and accompanied the KPK investigators during the search of both houses. The search operation was still ongoing as of 10:32 p.m. local time, and the KPK has yet to issue an official statement regarding the items sought or seized from the private residences.

This latest action follows a series of searches earlier in the day. On Thursday morning, dozens of KPK investigators searched the West Lombok Regent’s Office, arriving at around 9:40 a.m. under the escort of Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel from the West Nusa Tenggara Police. They searched the inactive regent’s office, the Head of Procurement of Goods and Services office, and another room that had previously been sealed. After completing the office search, the team moved to the official residence of the regent and the office of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, and Settlement Areas Agency (PUPRPKP). The KPK had previously conducted a sting operation on Monday (20/7/2026), arresting LAZ and detaining 19 individuals in connection with the case.
