The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) immediately searched the home of former Deputy Minister for Immigration and Corrections Silmy Karim on Jalan Brawijaya III, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, a day after he was detained as a suspect in an alleged extortion and gratuity case.

detikcom observations at the location on Friday (5/6/2026) noted KPK investigators arrived at around 13.46 Western Indonesia Time. They were wearing cream-coloured vests emblazoned with ‘KPK’.

Investigators entered the house after the gate was opened. Fully armed Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) personnel were seen securing and overseeing the search process outside the residence.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said Silmy’s house was one of the locations sealed during the sting operation. The search was conducted to find additional evidence.

‘In the series of caught-in-the-act events, SK’s house became one of the points that was sealed. The KPK believes that in this search, there is additional evidence needed by investigators to help shed light on this case,’ Budi stated.
