Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the offices of PT Djarum and the Kudus Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC), a Type Madya office in Central Java, on Wednesday (28 October 2026).

“The KPK is expanding its investigation into a customs and excise case and issued a new investigation warrant in October 2026,” KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo told reporters.

As part of the expanded investigation, he said, investigators searched the Kudus Customs Office.

“The team also searched PT Djarum’s office. The searches are still under way,” Budi said.

CNBC Indonesia said it was seeking confirmation about the KPK searches from Budi Darmawan, senior manager of corporate communications at the Djarum Group.

The KPK had previously investigated alleged corruption within the Customs and Excise Directorate General following a sting operation in February. It subsequently named seven people as suspects in an alleged bribery case involving imports and the acceptance of gratuities.

They are Rizal, former director of investigations and enforcement at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise from 2024 to January 2026; Sisprian Subiaksono, head of the directorate’s Intelligence, Enforcement and Investigation Subdirectorate; and Orlando, head of its Intelligence Section.

The other suspects are Andri, import documentation team leader at PT Blueray; Customs and Excise Directorate General employee Budiman Bayu Prasojo; PT Blueray owner John Field; and the company’s operations manager, Dedy Kurniawan.

Some of the suspects have been brought to trial and sentenced, while proceedings against others are continuing. More recently, the KPK issued two new investigation warrants relating to alleged corruption within the Customs and Excise Directorate General. One names Gatot Heroe Hernanda, head of the Kediri Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office, as a suspect; no suspect has yet been named under the other warrant.
