KPK Searches Ono Surono's Home, PDI-P Chairman: We Await the Process
Jakarta - PDI Perjuangan Deputy Chairman Andreas Hugo Pareira has responded to the search of West Java DPRD Deputy Chairman Ono Surono’s home by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Andreas assessed that information regarding the search is not yet fully clear, including details from the investigators’ official report.
“Sometimes these searches just create headlines. We don’t know the details. What does the official report say? We don’t know,” Andreas said when met at the RI House of Representatives building on Thursday (2/4/2026).
He also alluded to circulating information that the search was conducted without the knowledge of the person concerned.
“There’s already news about that. They were searched without being known, the person wasn’t there, they came in like that, right? So, we just wait for the process,” he said.
The search is related to the alleged bribery case for the ijön project in Bekasi Regency Government, which implicates the dismissed Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang.
“In this search, investigators secured and seized a number of documents, electronic evidence items, and cash amounting to hundreds of millions of rupiah found in ONS’s (Ono Surono) room,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Wednesday.
He assured that the search was carried out in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
“We emphasise that it was done according to procedure. The investigators have shown their search administration,” he said.
The KPK then continued the search at Ono Surono’s home located in Indramayu, West Java, on Thursday.
