KPK Searches Multiple Locations in Kuansing Related to Case of Regent Suhardiman Amby
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted searches in Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau. The searches are part of the investigation into a corruption case involving inactive Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby following a sting operation.
“It is true (the KPK is conducting searches),” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists on Monday (6/7/2026).
Budi stated that the searches were still ongoing but did not yet detail which locations were being searched.
“Investigators are still carrying out searches at a number of locations. We will update on the progress,” Budi said.
Previously, the KPK named Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby as a bribery suspect. Suhardiman is suspected of receiving a bribe in the form of a Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rp 2 billion to select Zulkarnain as Regional Secretary.
The case began in April 2025. There were two candidates for Kuansing Regional Secretary, namely Fahdiansyah, the Assistant I of the Kuansing Regency Government, and Zulkarnain, the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency.
During the process, only Zulkarnain agreed to the request. Zulkarnain was subsequently selected as Kuansing Regional Secretary.
“To fulfil the request, ZKN then purchased a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S SUV worth Rp 2.05 billion at a showroom located in the Greater Jakarta area. The purchase was made on credit or in ‘instalments’ of Rp 46.5 million per month, with a 5-year tenor,” he stated.
In total, three people have been named as suspects. The list is as follows:

Zulkarnain, as Kuansing Regional Secretary
