The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is searching the Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC TMC) in Kudus, Central Java. The search is taking place today.

“There is indeed an operation in the field,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters on Wednesday (28 October 2026).

Budi said the search was part of an expanded investigation by investigators into an import-related case. He said it was still under way.

“[The search is connected to] the development of the investigation,” Budi said.

“The search is still under way. We will provide another update later,” he added.

The KPK previously said it had issued two new investigation warrants as part of its expansion of a corruption case involving imports at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. One warrant names Customs official Gatot Heroe as a suspect, while the other is general in nature and has not yet resulted in any suspect being named.

The KPK is handling the alleged bribery case linked to imports at Customs and Excise. Eight people in total have been charged or are facing legal proceedings.

As the legal process has progressed, three people from Blueray Cargo have been sentenced by judges:

  1. John Field: three years in prison and a fine of Rp 300 million, with 100 days’ imprisonment in default of payment.

  2. Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo: two and a half years in prison and a fine of Rp 200 million, with 80 days’ imprisonment in default of payment.

  3. Andri: two and a half years in prison and a fine of Rp 200 million, with 80 days’ imprisonment in default of payment.

Three Customs officials are currently on trial in the case. They have received prosecution demands ranging from seven and a half to 11 and a half years:

  1. Rizal: 11 and a half years in prison, a fine of Rp 1 billion with 190 days’ imprisonment in default of payment, and restitution of Rp 15.7 billion, with four years’ imprisonment in default of payment.

  2. Sisprian Subiaksono: 10 years in prison, a fine of Rp 1 billion with 190 days’ imprisonment in default of payment, and restitution of Rp 7.4 billion, SGD 150,000 and USD 10,000, with three years’ imprisonment in default of payment.

  3. Orlando Hamonangan: seven and a half years in prison, a fine of Rp 1 billion with 190 days’ imprisonment in default of payment, and restitution of Rp 5,566,221,515 (Rp 5.5 billion), with one year’s imprisonment in default of payment.

Another defendant, Budiman Bayu Prasojo, head of the Customs Intelligence Section at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, is still undergoing witness examination. Gatot Heroe, head of Supervision and Services at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise’s Kediri regional office, remains under investigation by the KPK.
