KPK Searches Kuansing Regent's Office and DPRD Building, Documents and Electronic Evidence Seized

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators have carried out a series of searches in Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing) and Pekanbaru City. The searches are related to the investigation into an alleged bribery case concerning the filling of regional apparatus positions or the acceptance of gratuities that has implicated Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, that the search locations in Kuansing included the Regent’s Office, the DPRD Office, and the Plantation Office. Meanwhile, a search in Pekanbaru was conducted at a courier company office. Budi explained that investigators also searched the private and official residences of the suspects. In addition to the offices and suspects’ homes, searches were also conducted at several other houses related to the case, one of which was the home of the Head of the Plantation Office. During the series of searches, the investigative team found documents and Electronic Evidence (BBE) that strengthen the proof in the construction of the case. The KPK has named three suspects in this case, namely Regent Suhardiman Amby, Regional Secretary Zulkarnain, and one other individual from the private sector. The KPK stated that Regent Suhardiman Amby received a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S from Zulkarnain in exchange for the latter securing the position of Regional Secretary. The auction for the position involved a request for one unit of a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S SUV from the candidate who would fill the post. The vehicle given by Zulkarnain to Suhardiman was worth IDR 2.55 billion. It was purchased on credit with a five-year tenor, at a cost of IDR 46.5 million per month. The purchase was made using the identity of another person, Ardiles, who is the President Director of PT MIC, because Zulkarnain’s financial profile did not meet the requirements to apply for such a credit.
