KPK Searches Kuansing Regent's Office and DPRD Building, Documents and Electronic Evidence Seized

Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have carried out a series of raids in the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency and Pekanbaru City. These searches are related to the investigation of alleged bribery in the appointment of regional officials and the receipt of gratifications involving the Regent of Kuansing, Suhardiman Amby.

“The search locations in Kuansing include the Regent’s Office, the DPRD (Regional House of Representatives) Office, and the Plantation Office,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasembodi on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.

“Meanwhile, the search in Pekanbaru took place at an expedition office,” he added.

Budi explained that investigators also conducted searches at the private and official residences of the suspects. “In addition to the offices and houses of the suspects, searches were also carried out at several other houses related to the case, including the house of the Head of the Plantation Office,” he clarified.

During this series of raids, the investigative team found documents and Electronic Evidence (BBE) that strengthen the evidence within the construction of the case. “The team found documents and Electronic Evidence,” he stated.

For information, the KPK has named three suspects in this case, including the Regent of Kuansing, Suhardiman Amby (SA), and the Regional Secretary, Zulkarnain (ZKN), along with one individual from the private sector.

The KPK stated that Regent Suhardiman Amby received a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S from Zulkarnain in exchange for occupying the position of Regional Secretary. “This job auction required a condition or a request to the candidate seeking the position, namely one unit of a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S SUV,” said Taufiq.

Taufiq mentioned that the car provided by Zulkarnain to Suhardiman was valued at Rp2,550,000,000 (2.55 billion IDR). The vehicle was purchased via instalments with a five-year tenure.

“The purchase was made on credit with a monthly instalment of Rp46.5 million over a 5-year period,” he explained.

Taufiq revealed that the purchase of the car was conducted using another person’s identity, namely Ardiles (ARD), who is the President Director of PT MIC. This was because Zulkarnain himself did not meet the requirements to apply for a credit of that magnitude.

“Because ZKN’s financial profile did not meet the requirements to apply for the credit, ZKN used the identity of another person, ARD,” he stated.
