The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has searched homes and the Rectorate office building of Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) in a case of alleged extortion or gratification related to new student admissions.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the searches were carried out by investigators from Sunday (23/8) to Monday (24/8). He said a total of nine locations were searched by the anti-corruption agency.

The details include six homes belonging to the suspects, two houses allegedly linked to the extortion case, and the Unsoed Rectorate office building.

“Investigators seized several notes, documents, and electronic evidence related to alleged deposits and conditioning of new student admissions through the independent pathway,” he told reporters.

In addition, Budi said that from the Unsoed Rectorate office, the KPK also found a 2023 KPK Circular Letter (SE) regarding recommendations for improving the independent pathway admissions process.

He explained that in the circular, the KPK had reminded the university to improve transparency regarding admission quotas and graduation criteria for prospective students.

“As well as affirmative policies, institutional development contributions, digitalisation of the new student admissions process, determination of graduation, and complaint channels,” he said.

The KPK has named a total of six suspects in the alleged extortion case related to new student admissions at Unsoed or the acceptance of gratuities.

The suspects are Unsoed Rector Akhmad Sodiq; Unsoed Vice Rector III Norman Arie Prayoga; Unsoed Head of Academic Affairs Eko Sumanto; and three private individuals named Dian Mulia Wardhana, Adhi Wiharto, and Mulyono.

This determination follows a sting operation (OTT) in Purwokerto and Jakarta as well as intensive examinations conducted by the KPK since Thursday (20/8).

The KPK has detained the suspects for the first 20 days from 21 August to 9 September 2026. The detention is being carried out at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building branch state detention centre.
