KPK Searches Home of PDIP West Java Chairman Ono Surono

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a search of the private home of Ono Surono, Chairman of the PDIP West Java (Jabar) branch and also Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD. According to information gathered, the search of Ono Surono’s home was conducted by KPK officers accompanied by police from Polda Metro Jaya on Thursday (2/4). They arrived in five four-wheeled vehicles of the Innova type. The search took place around 8:30 a.m. WIB at Ono Surono’s private residence in Graha Sudirman Housing Complex, Block A4 Number 5, RT 03 RW 07, Lemah Mekar Village, Indramayu Sub-District/District. The search process concluded around 11:30 a.m. WIB, and the officers immediately left the three-storey house. RT 03 Chairman, Sahid, explained that Ono Surono and his family were not at home during the search. “They were reported to be in Bandung. The KPK and police officers were also accompanied by local village officials,” said Sahid. Only a household assistant was present at the house. Several construction workers were also seen carrying out home repairs. Sahid further revealed that the KPK officers only took some documents from the house. As for other items, such as money or laptops and other electronic devices, Sahid said he did not see them being taken. Sahid added that Ono and his family rarely occupy the house. “To my knowledge, Ono and his family only return to that house during holidays,” said Sahid. As is known, the KPK had previously conducted a search at Ono Surono’s home in Bandung. That search is related to the investigation of the alleged corruption case involving advance payments for projects within the Bekasi Regency Government, which implicates the inactive Bekasi Regent, Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK). The KPK has also named Bekasi Regent for the 2025–present period, Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK), along with his father HM Kunang (HMK), as suspects in the alleged corruption case of receiving gifts or promises in the form of advance payment money for projects. The KPK previously summoned Ono Surono to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building on Thursday, 15 January 2026, to be examined as a witness. In that examination, Ono admitted to being questioned about the alleged flow of bribe money in the case involving Ade Kuswara Kunang. The Chairman of the DPR Budget Agency (Banggar) invited respect for the process carried out by the KPK by prioritising the presumption of innocence principle. Budi said that until 3:00 p.m. WIB, the search was still ongoing.
