The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the residence of Riyoso, former acting regional secretary (Pj Sekda) of Pati Regency and former head of the public works and infrastructure office (DPUTR) of Pati Regency, on Friday (27 February 2026).

The search was conducted in connection with an alleged extortion case involving the appointment of village apparatus positions within Pati Regency, which has ensnared the suspended Pati Regent Sudewo.

“Today, Friday (27 February), investigators searched the residence of RYS (Riyoso), the former acting regional secretary of Pati Regency,” said KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo in a statement on Friday.

“During the search, investigators secured several documents and electronic evidence to support the investigation into this case,” he said.

According to Kompas.com records, the KPK had previously interviewed Riyoso as a witness in connection with the case on Tuesday (3 February 2026) and Tuesday (24 February 2026).

From these interviews, the KPK explored Riyoso’s account and those of other witnesses regarding alleged conditioning in the implementation of projects in Pati Regency carried out by Team 8, which was established by Sudewo.

“With regard to witnesses from the Public Works and Infrastructure Service, we examined matters related to project implementation in Pati Regency, where there is allegedly conditioning conducted by Team 8 under the instruction of SDW (Sudewo),” said KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The KPK designated Pati Regent Sudewo as a suspect in the alleged extortion case involving the appointment of village apparatus positions within Pati Regency on 20 January 2026.

In addition to Sudewo, the KPK also designated Abdul Suyono, head of Karangrowo Village; Sumarjiono, head of Arumanis Village; and Karjan, head of Sukorukun Village, as suspects.

The KPK revealed that the case originated in late 2025 when Pati Regency government planned to open positions for village apparatus in March 2026.

According to KPK findings, there were 601 vacant village apparatus positions. Based on this, Sudewo, together with members of his success team (timses) or trusted associates, planned to solicit payments from candidate village officials.

Several village heads who were part of Sudewo’s success team were appointed to serve as district coordinators in facilitating the extortion scheme.
