The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the offices of the Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda) and the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) on Thursday (27/8/2026).

The searches were conducted as part of the investigation into an alleged corruption case in Bogor Regency.

“In the continuation of the investigation into the alleged criminal act of corruption in Bogor Regency, today investigators carried out search activities at two locations in the Bogor Regency area,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday, 27 August 2026.

From the two locations, investigators secured a number of documents believed to be related to the case under investigation.

“Investigators seized documents related to the alleged criminal act of corruption in the withholding of incentives for local tax collection and regional levies,” he said.

Budi said the evidence that has been seized will be examined and analysed by investigators to further investigate the case.

This case previously came to light after information circulated regarding a KPK sting operation (OTT) in Bogor Regency on 20 August 2026.

The KPK subsequently denied that a sting operation had taken place in the area. However, the anti-corruption agency acknowledged that on 21 August 2026 it had secured cash amounting to Rp1.5 billion related to the investigation into alleged corruption within the Bogor Regency Government.

After that, the KPK upgraded the handling of the case from the inquiry stage to the investigation stage. This step was marked by the issuance of a general investigation order (sprindik) regarding the alleged receipt of money by state officials in the Bogor Regency Government.

The money is suspected to have originated from the withholding of collection fees at the Bogor Regency Bappenda.

In addition to the case of withholding incentives for local tax collection and regional levies, the KPK is also investigating alleged criminal acts of corruption in the procurement of goods and services within the Bogor Regency Government, West Java.

In the case using the general investigation order, the KPK has not yet announced the parties named as suspects.
