KPK Searches 12 Locations in Madiun Related to Extortion Case Involving Mayor Maidi This Week
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted marathon searches at 12 locations related to the alleged extortion and gratification case involving the suspended Mayor of Madiun, Maidi, during this week. The KPK secured documents from these searches. “In the searches conducted in stages, the team secured several documents and electronic evidence items that are suspected to be related and can clarify the matter in this investigation stage,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Friday (10/4/2026). The searches took place starting from Monday (6/4). At that time, the KPK searched the home of the Head of the Madiun Communication and Informatics Office. On Tuesday (7/4), two homes of private parties were searched. Continuing on Wednesday (8/4), there were five locations searched, one of which was the Director of the Madiun City Water Supply Company (PDAM). On Thursday (9/4), the home of a civil servant from the Madiun City Environmental Office and three homes of private parties were searched by the KPK. “The investigators will next analyse every item secured to strengthen the evidence and complete the investigation file,” he said. In this case, the KPK has named the suspended Mayor of Madiun, Maidi, as a suspect in the alleged extortion and gratification. The KPK revealed that Maidi demanded fees from business permits in Madiun. The KPK seized Rp 550 million in cash in this case. The suspects in this case are: 1. Mayor of Madiun, Maidi; 2. Head of the Madiun City Public Works and Spatial Planning Department, Thariq Megah; 3. Private party, Rochim Rudiyanto.
