JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched 12 locations in Madiun City, East Java, from Monday (6/4/2026) to Thursday (9/4/2026) in connection with the alleged extortion case implicating suspended Madiun Mayor Maidi.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the series of searches concluded after investigators raided four locations on Thursday.

“Investigators completed this week’s series of search activities on Thursday (9/4), by conducting searches at four locations, namely one location at the home of a civil servant in the Madiun City Environmental Office, and the other three locations being homes of private parties,” Budi said in his statement on Friday (10/4/2026).

“Investigators will next analyse every item of evidence (barbuk) secured to strengthen the evidence and complete the investigation file,” he added.

Budi also confirmed that the KPK searched the home of the Head of the Communication and Informatics Office (Kadiskominfo) of Madiun City, Noor Aflah, on Monday (6/4/2026).

“On Tuesday, [searches at] 2 private parties, Wednesday, at 5 locations namely 1 PDAM director, 4 private [parties],” he said.

Not only Maidi, but the KPK also named Rochim Ruhdiyanto, Maidi’s trusted aide, and Thariq Megah, the Head of the Public Works Office (PUPR) of Madiun City.

“The KPK has elevated this case to the investigation stage and named three individuals as suspects,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, during a press conference at the KPK Merah Putih Building on Tuesday (20/1/2026).

Maidi and Rochim Ruhdiyanto are charged with violating Article 12 letter e of Law No. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Articles 20 and 21 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP).

In addition, Maidi together with Thariq Megah are also charged with violating Article 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Articles 20 and 21 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the KUHP.
