KPK Seals Office of Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby
The Corruption Eradasting Commission (KPK) sealed several rooms in the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent’s Office, Riau, on Tuesday (30/06), amid reports of an operation conducted by KPK investigators in Kuansing since yesterday.
According to reports from Antara, red sealing tape was observed on the entrance to the office of Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby.
In addition to the Regent’s office, the sealing also extended to the offices of Vice Regent Mukhlisin, Regional Secretary Zulkarnain, and Assistant I of the Kuansing Regional Secretariat, Fahdiasyah.
As of the time of writing, there has been no official statement regarding the specific parties conducting the sealing or its connection to the ongoing operations in the area.
Previously, activity suspected to involve a KPK team was observed in Teluk Kuantan since Monday (29/06). At that time, the region was hosting the Riau Provincial Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) and the Festival Pacu Jalur Rayon II.
One location of particular interest was the official residence of Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain. Several Brimob patrol vehicles were seen arriving at the location, escorting officers into the residence area. Once the officers entered, the gates of the official residence were closed by personnel from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) on duty.
Furthermore, unconfirmed reports suggested that Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby had been present at the Kuantan Singingi Police Headquarters. However, this information has not been officially confirmed.
When journalists approached the Kuantan Singingi Police Headquarters, access to certain areas was restricted by police officers. The personnel on duty requested that journalists coordinate with the Kuantan Singingi Police Public Relations Section for further information.
“If you wish to seek confirmation, please contact the Head of Public Relations directly,” an officer at the scene stated.
On Monday night, several vehicles were seen moving from the residence of the Kuansing Regional Secretary towards Pekanbaru. Vehicle activity was also observed at the Riau Regional Police Headquarters (Mapolda Riau) late into the night.
To date, there has been no official statement from either the police or the KPK regarding the series of activities taking place in Kuansing. When approached for comment, the KPK News Bureau provided only a brief response via WhatsApp: “Thank you for contacting the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) News Team. We will respond to your message shortly.”
