KPK Schedules Press Conference on Kuansing Sting Operation for Wednesday
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled a press conference to announce the results of a sting operation (OTT) within the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency Government, Riau, for Wednesday (1/7). “For the press conference, we have scheduled it for tomorrow afternoon or evening,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday. Budi explained that the KPK will outline the construction of the alleged bribery case, including the parties who have been named as suspects in the OTT. “The construction of the alleged bribery, including which parties are suspected to be involved and subsequently named as suspects, will be conveyed during the press conference,” he said. He added that search activities are being conducted to obtain additional evidence to strengthen the case files in the investigation. Previously, on Tuesday (30/6), the KPK confirmed it had conducted an OTT in Kuansing and Jakarta, securing 10 individuals. This operation marks the 14th sting operation carried out by the KPK throughout 2026. The KPK has also requested that Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby and Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain surrender themselves. Both are suspected of involvement in a bribery case related to the buying and selling of the regional secretary position. In handling this case, the KPK also seized a car believed to have been used as an instrument of the bribe.
