KPK Schedules Fuad Hasan Examination in Hajj Quota Case for Next Week

Investigators have rescheduled his examination for next week. We will update you on the exact date later.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), continuing its investigation into the alleged corruption case involving hajj quotas, has scheduled the examination of Fuad Hasan Masyhur (FHM), owner of the hajj organiser PT Makassar Toraja or Maktour, for next week, around 15–19 June 2026.

“Investigators have rescheduled his examination for next week. We will update you on the exact date later,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Friday.

According to Budi, the KPK believes Fuad Hasan can comply with the KPK’s summons, which is a rescheduling.

Previously, the KPK commenced its investigation into the alleged corruption of Indonesia’s 2023–2024 hajj quotas on 9 August 2025.

On 9 January 2026, the KPK named former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and his special staff member, Ishfah Abidal Aziz alias Gus Alex, as suspects.

Meanwhile, Fuad Hasan Masyhur, as the owner of the Maktour hajj organiser, was not named a suspect, although he was temporarily placed on an overseas travel ban.

On 12 March 2026, the KPK detained Yaqut at the KPK’s Red and White Building branch detention centre, and subsequently detained Ishfah on 17 March 2026.

The KPK temporarily converted Yaqut’s detention status to house arrest on 19 March 2026 at the family’s request, but returned him to the KPK detention centre on 24 March 2026.

On 30 March 2026, the KPK named two new suspects, namely Maktour Operational Director Ismail Adham and former General Chairman of the Republic of Indonesia Hajj and Umrah Tour Travel Association (Kesthuri) Asrul Aziz Taba. They have been detained since 8 June 2026.
