KPK Says Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro Under Intensive Questioning in Jakarta

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro is currently being questioned at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the regent is undergoing intensive examination after being apprehended by the anti-graft body in Jakarta. “One of the individuals secured in Jakarta is the Pemalang Regent, who arrived at the KPK’s Red and White Building last night for intensive questioning,” Budi said at the KPK headquarters on Wednesday.

Previously, the KPK confirmed it had conducted its 18th sting operation of 2026. During the operation, the KPK arrested five people in Jakarta, 15 people in Pemalang, and one person in Purworejo. Additionally, the KPK seized cash evidence amounting to Rp2 billion and brought 12 of the 21 individuals to Jakarta for further examination. The sting operation is linked to alleged corruption involving various projects and the buying and selling of positions within the Pemalang Regency Government, Central Java. The KPK has 24 hours from the time of arrest to determine the legal status of the detained parties, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
