KPK Says Pekalongan Regent Was Not Arrested While With Central Java Governor

Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq was not arrested together with Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi. The statement came after Fadia Arafiq claimed she was arrested while in the company of Ahmad Luthfi.

“While we were at the command post, there was no such information,” said Asep Guntur Rahayu, the KPK’s Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, at the Gedung Merah Putih KPK building in Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.

He said the correct information is that Fadia Arafiq was arrested in Semarang, Central Java, together with her trusted aides and bodyguards. “If in Semarang, that is correct,” he added.

Earlier, on 3 March 2026, the KPK announced a Ramadan arrest operation, which it said was the seventh OTT of the year. The KPK said it arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq along with her aides and trusted associates in the Semarang area, Central Java. It then announced the arrest of 11 other people from Pekalongan, Central Java.

On 4 March 2026, the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in a case of alleged corruption related to the procurement of outsourcing services or manpower supply, and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023-2026 financial year. However, before the arrest, Fadia Arafiq claimed she was arrested together with Ahmad Luthfi.

“During the arrest, they (the KPK) raided the house; I was with the Central Java Governor,” Fadia said at the Red and White Building, KPK, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

In a separate statement, Ahmad Luthfi denied being with Fadia Arafiq when the KPK operation took place. “We do not know where we were arrested,” he said. (Ant)
