The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that Gatot Heroe Hernanda, head of the Kediri Customs Office, received up to Rp3.25 billion from John Field, owner of PT Blueray Cargo.

“Between July 2025 and January 2026, JF (John Field), as owner of PT BR (Blueray Cargo), is known to have deposited money to a number of parties within Customs totalling Rp61.9 billion, of which Rp3.25 billion was received by GH (Gatot Heroe),” said Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK Achmad Taufik Husein at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Taufik explained that Gatot received the money during the period when he held the position of Head of the Enforcement Sub-Directorate at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance.

He added that Gatot received the money from John Field through Enov Puji Wijanarko, Head of Customs Enforcement Section I.

“So, GH’s share was handed over by EPW (Enov Puji Wijanarko) in his office every month,” he said.

As a result, Gatot, as an alleged bribe recipient, is suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or letter b of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.

Gatot is also charged by the KPK with violating Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.

He further stated that Gatot is suspected of violating Article 606 paragraph (2) of Law Number 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustments in conjunction with Article 126 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP) in conjunction with Article 20 letter (c) of the KUHP.

“So, there are three layered articles applied to GH,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said the KPK has detained Gatot for the first 20 days, from 26 August 2026 to 14 September 2026.

“The detention is being carried out at the State Detention Centre, the Merah Putih Building branch of the KPK,” he said.

The KPK previously conducted a sting operation within Customs in February 2026 and named a number of parties as suspects.

On 21 July 2026, the KPK announced the development of the case through the issuance of two investigation warrants.

As of 26 August 2026, a number of parties have been named as suspects in the case, namely:

  1. Rizal, Head of the Customs Regional Office for Western Sumatra

  2. Sisprian Subiaksono, Head of the Customs Intelligence, Enforcement and Investigation Sub-Directorate

  3. Orlando Hamonangan, Head of the Customs Intelligence Section

  4. John Field, owner of Blueray Cargo
