KPK says Fadia Arafiq was not arrested together with Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq was not arrested together with Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi. The KPK issued the statement after Fadia Arafiq claimed she was arrested while she was with Ahmad Luthfi. ‘While we were at the post, there was no information about that,’ said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Wednesday. Asep said the correct information is that Fadia Arafiq was arrested in Semarang, Central Java, together with her trusted aides and assistants. ‘If it was in Semarang, that’s correct,’ he said. The KPK said they arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq together with her aides and trusted associates in the Semarang area, Central Java. The KPK then announced the arrest of 11 other people from Pekalongan, Central Java. On 4 March 2026, the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in a case of alleged corruption relating to the procurement of outsourcing services or tenaga alih daya (third-party staff), and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency government for the 2023-2026 financial year. ‘At the time of the arrest, they [the KPK] raided the house; I was with the Central Java Governor,’ Fadia said at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday. In a separate statement, Ahmad Luthfi denied being with Fadia Arafiq when the KPK operation took place. ‘We do not know where they were arrested either,’ he said.
