KPK Reveals Three Additional Suspects in Muara Enim Regent Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed the identities of three suspects in an alleged bribery case related to procurement within the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra, besides Muara Enim Regent Edison. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated the three additional suspects are Abi Nurwardani, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Agency; Adi Triyadi, a nephew of Edison; and Cory Erin Hardi, a marketing employee at PT Millenium Solusi Abadi. “Correct,” Budi confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday, 9 June 2026. Meanwhile, based on observations by journalists on the ground, the four suspects appeared before the public wearing orange KPK vests. In the first batch, only Cory Erin appeared and walked to the detention vehicle. In the second batch, Edison, Abi Nurwardani, and Adi Triyadi emerged simultaneously from the KPK’s Merah Putih Building heading to the detention vehicle. Edison only smiled when questioned by journalists who had been waiting for him since Tuesday morning. The KPK previously announced on Monday, 8 June 2026, that it had arrested ten people in a sting operation (OTT) in South Sumatra and Jakarta, comprising five from the Muara Enim Regency Government and five from the private sector. The KPK also announced that one of the ten arrested was Muara Enim Regent Edison. Edison was arrested in South Sumatra and brought by the KPK to Jakarta on Tuesday, 9 June 2026. The operation was the 12th conducted by the KPK in 2026. On Tuesday, 9 June 2026, the KPK announced Edison was one of four individuals named as suspects in the alleged bribery case related to procurement in the Muara Enim Regency Government. In addition, the KPK announced the seizure of evidence worth Rp2 billion, consisting of cash in rupiah, dollars, and riyals, as well as several account balances.
