JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has disclosed that state losses amounting to Rp 622,090,207,166 were incurred in the 2023-2024 Special Hajj services case. The loss was disclosed during the pre-trial hearing of the civil action filed by former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at the South Jakarta District Court, on Wednesday 4 March 2026. ‘In essence, in the criminal corruption matter, the losses amount to Rp 622,090,207,166,’ said the KPK Legal Bureau team in the hearing. On that basis, the KPK emphasised that the corruption related to the Hajj quota constitutes a corruption offence meeting the criteria of Article 11(1)(d) of the KPK Law, namely losses to the state of at least Rp 1 billion. The KPK has also taken statements from more than 40 people. Thus, in its conclusion, the applicant’s designation as a suspect has undergone a series of data collection, information, statements, and leads so that the sufficiency of evidence through two pieces of evidence has been met. ‘That up to the reading of the respondent’s answer in the praperadilan, the investigation conducted by the respondent is ongoing,’ he said. The judge ordered the proceedings to be conducted in a marathon session lasting a single day. In this hearing, Yaqut did not attend in person and was represented by his legal counsel, Mellisa Anggraini. Meanwhile, the KPK was represented by the Legal Bureau team.
