KPK Reveals Seizure of Cash from Ono Surono's Private Bedroom
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that the cash secured during the search of the home of Ono Surono (ONS), Chairman of the West Java PDIP DPD, was found by investigators in his private room.
“Cash that was secured and seized during the search at Mr ONS’s home in Bandung was found in Mr ONS’s private room,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the agency’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4).
“Certainly, the cash was secured from Mr ONS’s private room,” Budi added.
Regarding whether the seized cash was from an arisan, Budi said the agency would further examine statements on the matter.
“Yes, we will certainly delve into those statements,” he said.
Previously, Sahali suspected that investigators intimidated Ono’s wife. Not only that, Sahali also mentioned an incident of pushing and shoving between legal advisors and Ono’s wife.
“After the CCTV was turned off, investigators allegedly intimidated Kang Ono Surono’s wife, and there was pushing and shoving with the legal advisor who tried to protect Ono Surono’s wife,” he said.
Sahali said the pushing and shoving was triggered because investigators insisted on seizing the arisan participants’ money from Ono’s wife.
“Investigators insisted on seizing Rp50 million belonging to the family and Rp200 million belonging to many arisan participants from Ono Surono’s wife. Even though WhatsApp Group arisan evidence was shown to the investigators, proving the arisan money belonged to many people, it was ignored by the investigators,” he said.
The KPK searched Ono’s residence as Deputy Chairman of the West Java Provincial DPRD on Wednesday (1/4). Then on Thursday (2/4), KPK investigators continued the search activity at Ono’s home in Indramayu.
The search is related to the investigation of the alleged bribery for advance payment on projects and receipt of gratification case that implicates Bekasi Regent for the 2025-2030 period, Ade Kuswara.
