The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has explained the reasons behind the search of the home of Audit Board (BPK) member Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi. The anti-corruption body asserted that the action was taken based on leads held by investigators probing the alleged bribery case concerning the conditioning of BPK audit results for the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that every search conducted by investigators has a strong basis. He said the step was taken after investigators believed there was a possibility of finding additional evidence needed to advance the investigation.

“The searches conducted by investigators are, of course, based on leads and the investigators’ belief that at the locations searched, there is additional evidence required,” Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

Budi explained that the additional evidence believed to be at the former DPR RI member’s home is directly related to the audit process and mechanisms carried out by the BPK on the Muara Enim Regency Government. According to him, investigators are looking into the alleged conditioning of the audit results, whereby findings initially recorded in the BPK examination were suspected to have been removed.

“This is, of course, related to the process or mechanism of the audit conducted by the BPK on the Muara Enim Regency Government,” Budi said. He added that the allegation points to an effort to eliminate a number of findings in the audit results so that they would not affect the assessment opinion given to the Muara Enim Regency Government. Consequently, investigators are continuing to gather evidence to clarify the alleged criminal act of corruption being handled.

The case originated from a sting operation (OTT) conducted by the KPK on 7 to 8 June 2026. During the operation, a total of 10 people were detained, consisting of five individuals in Jakarta and five others in South Sumatra. This operation was the 12th sting operation carried out by the KPK throughout 2026. One of the parties detained at the time was the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison. Following an examination, on 9 June 2026, the KPK named four people as suspects in the alleged bribery case related to the procurement of goods and services and other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025–2026 Fiscal Year.
