KPK Reveals Parties Claiming to Be Able to Arrange Customs Case in Semarang

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has received information about parties claiming they can arrange and manage investigation cases at the KPK, particularly in this Customs and Excise matter, regarding the handling of goods importation or related customs duties,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Monday (4/5/2026). “We obtained this information in the area around Semarang,” he added. Therefore, the KPK urges witnesses or parties related to this case to remain alert. He emphasised that case handling at the KPK is conducted professionally. “To the related parties or witnesses scheduled to be examined by investigators, always be cautious and wary of irresponsible individuals who claim to be KPK employees or other parties who can arrange cases at the KPK,” he stated. On Wednesday (29/4), Budi also revealed that there were parties pretending to be able to arrange this case. These parties are in Central Java. These two parties are different. In this case, the KPK initially designated six individuals as suspects after conducting a sting operation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) in a bribery case related to imports. The KPK seized evidence in this bribery case with a total value of Rp 40.5 billion. “In addition, the KPK team also secured evidence from the residences of RZL, ORL, and PT BR as well as other locations because there are several locations, like safe houses. The total value suspected to be related to this criminal act is Rp 40.5 billion,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement Asep Guntur Rahayu at the Merah Putih building of the KPK in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday (5/2). The evidence seized by the KPK includes: - Cash in the amount of Rp 1.89 billion - Cash in USD 182,900 - Cash in SGD 1.48 million - Cash in JPY 55,000 - Precious metals weighing 2.5 kg or equivalent to Rp 7.4 billion - Precious metals weighing 2.8 kg or equivalent to Rp 8.3 billion - 1 luxury watch valued at Rp 138 million.
