KPK Reveals Forestry Minister Reported Gratification Rejection After Kuansing Regent's Arrest
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni reported a rejection of gratification on Friday (3/7/2026). The report concerns an attempted gratification by Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby. This means Raja Juli, who is also a politician from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), only filed the report with the KPK after the sting operation that led to Suhardiman Amby being named a suspect. “On Friday (3/7/2026) last week, the Forestry Minister Raja Juli submitted a report of gratification rejection to the KPK,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Monday (6/7/2026). The KPK stated that the Directorate of Gratification and Public Services is currently verifying and analysing the report. This process refers to KPK Regulation Number 1 of 2026 concerning Amendments to KPK Regulation Number 2 of 2019 on Gratification Reporting. “The KPK will convey the results of whether the report can be followed up or not,” Budi stated. This gratification rejection report emerged in connection with the investigation into the alleged bribery and gratification case ensnaring Suhardiman Amby. The KPK had conducted a sting operation in Riau and Jakarta on 29 June 2026, which led to Suhardiman Amby and Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain surrendering on 30 June 2026. The KPK detected gratification related to the release of limited production forest areas. Previously, Raja Juli admitted to a meeting with Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby at the Ministry of Forestry on 2 June 2026. Following the meeting, Raja Juli claimed he was unaware that Suhardiman Amby had left a white envelope in the meeting room. Raja Juli then claimed he had asked his aide to return the envelope on 5 June 2026. However, due to various reasons, the aide only met Suhardiman Amby and returned the envelope on 12 June.
