The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, is not the first detainee from the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) to be placed in the KPK detention centre. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said that the entrustment of detainees can occur if there is a need in the investigation process.

“There have been previous instances, indeed there have been (detainees from the Attorney General’s Office who were entrusted). This happens when there is a need in the investigation process, it is a possibility,” Budi said at the KPK building in Jakarta on Friday evening (24/7/2026). “The KPK has also entrusted detainees on several occasions,” he added.

He stated that the entrustment of Febrie’s detention to the KPK detention centre is a form of support for the legal process. He said this represents a synergy between the KPK and the Attorney General’s Office. “It has been explained earlier by our colleagues from the Attorney General’s Office. Of course, this is also a form of synergy between the KPK and the Attorney General’s Office regarding the support and assistance from the KPK related to the entrustment of the suspect FA’s detention,” he said.

Previously, the Attorney General’s Office detained former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah in connection with alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) in the Asabri case at the KPK detention centre. The Attorney General’s Office revealed the reason for detaining Febrie at the KPK facility. “Firstly, Saudara FA has been named a suspect and detained for the next 20 days, from today, at the KPK detention centre we just witnessed,” said Junior Attorney General for Supervision (Jamwas) Rudi Margono in Jakarta on Friday (24/7).

He then disclosed the reason Febrie was detained at the KPK detention centre. According to him, the decision was made partly considering Febrie’s track record of having handled several major cases. “Many are asking why at the KPK. We want to ensure, the individual in question has at least contributed to handling major cases. Major cases,” he said.
