KPK Reveals BPK Member Bribed with Rp1.6 Billion to Alter Audit Results in Muara Enim
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed a demand for Rp1.6 billion to alter the audit results of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Representative Office of South Sumatra concerning the financial reports of the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025 fiscal year.
Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, stated that the demand was conveyed by a private party named Augusz Dewanggara, also known as Angga (AGG alias ANG), to the Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office, Abi Nurwardani (ABN), during a negotiation meeting.
“In that negotiation, there was a fee requirement conveyed by AGG, which was around Rp1.6 billion,” Taufik said at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
According to Taufik, during the meeting Angga suggested that the Rp1.6 billion be taken from one per cent of the infrastructure work budget ceiling or two per cent of the procurement budget ceiling of the Muara Enim Regency Government.
He added that both Angga and Abi subsequently agreed on the reward amount for altering the BPK South Sumatra audit results for the Muara Enim Regency.
Meanwhile, he explained that the order to alter the BPK South Sumatra audit results was given hierarchically by Edison during his tenure as Regent of Muara Enim.
He detailed that Edison initially ordered the Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development of the Muara Enim Regional Secretariat, who previously served as Head of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office, Rusdi Hairullah. Rusdi then asked Abi to handle the matter further.
Previously, the KPK arrested 10 individuals in a sting operation (OTT) on 7-8 June 2026. Five people were arrested in Jakarta, and five others in South Sumatra.
In the KPK’s 12th OTT of 2026, Muara Enim Regent Edison was among those arrested.
On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other receipts within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
The four suspects are Edison, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office Abi Nurwardani, marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Cory Erin Hardi, and Adi Triyadi, who is Edison’s nephew.
The KPK then conducted a follow-up OTT on 10 June 2026, arresting five civil servants from the BPK RI. This operation became the 13th OTT conducted by the KPK throughout 2026.
