KPK Resummons Maktour Boss Fuad for Next Week
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has rescheduled the summons for Maktour boss Fuad Hasan Masyhur. Fuad previously failed to attend because he was performing the Hajj pilgrimage, leading to the re-summons for next week. “Investigators have rescheduled his examination for next week,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists on Friday (12/6/2026). Budi has not yet specified the exact date Fuad will be examined. He stated that Fuad has pledged to be cooperative. “The witness has also conveyed that he will be cooperative and support the investigation process of this case. We believe the witness will attend the rescheduled appointment,” Budi said. Previously, Fuad did not comply with the KPK’s summons as a witness in the Hajj quota corruption case on Tuesday (2/6). Fuad was unable to attend as he was still in Saudi Arabia. “Witness Mr FHM sent a confirmation that he could not yet comply with the investigators’ summons. The witness is still in Saudi Arabia for the purpose of performing the Hajj pilgrimage,” Budi explained at the time. In this Hajj quota corruption case, the KPK has named four suspects. They are: 1. Former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ), 2. Yaqut’s former special staff member, Ishfah Abidal Azis alias Gus Alex (IAA), 3. Operational Director of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour) Ismail Adham (ISM), and 4. Chairman of the Kesthuri Association Asrul Azis Taba (ASR). The KPK suspects Ismail and Asrul gave money to Yaqut in his capacity as former minister. The money was allegedly handed over through an intermediary, namely Yaqut’s former special staff member, Gus Alex. Ismail is suspected of giving USD 30,000 to Gus Alex. Ismail is also alleged to have handed over USD 5,000 to Hilman Latief (HL), the former Director General of Hajj and Umrah at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2024. The KPK stated that state losses in this case amount to Rp 622 billion. This figure is the result of a calculation by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
