KPK Responds to Purbaya Receiving Gifts During TikTok Live with His Child, Issues This Reminder
The KPK responded to the live session of Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who received gifts during a live broadcast on his child’s TikTok account. The KPK advised Purbaya to seek consultation to determine whether the gifts constitute gratuities or not.
“If there are still doubts, please consult or report to the KPK. Because every report will be analyzed, and the results of the analysis will determine whether it becomes the property of the recipient or the property of the state,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday (February 26, 2026).
Budi also appreciated Purbaya for considering the potential for gratuities during the live session. The KPK reminded that gratuities can take various forms.
“First, we would like to express our appreciation and gratitude because in his broadcast, the Minister also showed concern and awareness regarding the potential for gratuities,” he said.
However, in this case, the live session was conducted using his child’s account. Therefore, there is no connection with Purbaya’s position as a state official.
“In this context, we see that the recipient is his child. There is no connection or relationship with his father’s duties, functions, and position as Minister, as a state official,” he said.
“And this is also a reminder to all state officials and other civil servants, if there is a receipt of gratuities, to immediately report it at the earliest opportunity,” he added.
The clip of Purbaya’s live session went viral on social media. During the session, Purbaya also answered questions from viewers. During the live session, several viewers sent gifts to Purbaya and his child. As the number of gifts increased, Purbaya expressed concern that the gifts could potentially be considered gratuities.
