Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has responded to President Prabowo Subianto’s directive, conveyed by the Head of the Police Reform Acceleration Commission Jimly Asshiddiqie, that reforms are needed for other law enforcement agencies as well as the judicial power.

KPK responded by stating that the anti-corruption agency has continuously conducted internal performance evaluations.

“We continuously evaluate our performance. We conduct evaluations in a tiered manner,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.

Budi explained that the tiered evaluation begins at the bureau or directorate level, then is evaluated by the Secretary General or KPK Deputies.

“It is then also evaluated by the leadership, and institutionally, KPK is evaluated by the supervisory board,” he clarified.

In this way, he said KPK can measure how far it has carried out its duties and functions as well as their impact.

“Of course, we also believe that with this continuous evaluation, in the future we can continuously make accelerated improvements,” he stated.

“So, the President also gave directions that what needs to be reformed is not just the police, especially since we have had 25 to 27 years of reform, particularly law enforcement institutions also need evaluation, up to the judicial power which also needs reform,” said Jimly at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

According to him, the overhaul intended is not limited to aspects of improving welfare such as salary increases, but also integrated and comprehensive reforms.

He stated that these reform steps begin with the National Police institution before being expanded to other agencies.
