The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has responded to the lawyer of Deputy Chairman of the West Java Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD Jabar) from PDI-P, Ono Surono (ONS), who alleged irregularities during the search. KPK emphasised that the search was carried out in accordance with procedures.

“The search conducted by KPK investigators at Mr Ono Surono’s residence in the Bandung area was carried out in accordance with procedures,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Thursday (2/4/2026).

Budi stated that the CCTV at the house was turned off by Ono’s family. He said KPK investigators did not seize the CCTV.

“Regarding the CCTV, the investigators did not unplug or turn it off. The CCTV was turned off by the family side, and the investigators only checked the CCTV. After checking the CCTV, the investigators also did not seize it,” he said.

Budi explained that the investigators had shown the administrative documents for the search. The search was witnessed by Ono’s wife and family.

“The investigators had shown the search administration. During the search, it was accompanied and witnessed by Mr ONS’s wife, family members, and local community officials,” he said.

Previously, the Head of BBHAR PDI-P West Java and Ono Surono’s lawyer, Sahali, stated that they respect the legal process against Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang being carried out by KPK. Sahali alluded to several irregularities during the KPK’s search.

“Regarding this search process, we noted irregularities because the investigators asked for the CCTV at Kang Ono’s house to be turned off during the search process. This makes us wonder why it had to be turned off? What is the legal basis?” said Sahali, quoted from detikJabar, Wednesday (1/4).

Sahali claimed that the investigators did not bring a search warrant from the Chief of the District Court as stipulated in Article 114 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). At the time of the search, Ono Surono was conducting organisational consolidation in Garut and Tasikmalaya City.

Ono’s house in Bandung was raided by KPK on Wednesday (1/4). KPK seized a number of documents and hundreds of millions of rupiah from Ono’s house.

This search is related to allegations of money received by Ono from one of the private suspects in the bribery case for project down payments that ensnared the inactive Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang, Sarjan. KPK has also previously examined Ono and suspects he received fund flows from Sarjan, who has been designated as a suspect in this case.

“Yes, including that (related to allegations of money received by Ono from Sarjan),” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/4).

In this case, KPK has named three people as suspects, namely:

  1. Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang

  2. Ade Kuswara’s father, HM Kunang

  3. Private party, Sarjan

Ade and HM Kunang are suspected of receiving project down payment money amounting to Rp 9.5 billion. KPK’s Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that the project was planned to be worked on in 2026. The money was said to be an advance for project guarantees.
