Dismissed Depok District Court judge I Wayan Eka Mariarta has filed a praperadilan application regarding the seizure conducted by the KPK in a bribery case related to land dispute enforcement. The KPK respects Wayan Eka’s move.

“The KPK respects the right of every party to pursue legal remedies, including the praperadilan application by suspect IWEM in the alleged corruption case involving bribery in the enforcement of a land dispute,” explained KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Budi stated that the praperadilan mechanism is guaranteed by law as part of the process to test law enforcement actions, particularly in formal aspects. He also explained that the KPK has received official notification from the South Jakarta District Court regarding the praperadilan application.

Nevertheless, the KPK has requested a postponement of the first hearing scheduled for Monday (30/3). However, he assured that the KPK is prepared to engage in the praperadilan process.

“Currently, the KPK through its Legal Bureau has also submitted a request for postponement of the trial to prepare the response material for the upcoming hearing,” Budi revealed.

“The KPK ensures that it will face this praperadilan process professionally, transparently, and accountably, while adhering to applicable legal provisions,” he said.

He further explained that the KPK is confident that all investigative steps taken have followed procedures and are supported by sufficient valid evidence. The KPK, he said, also emphasised that the praperadilan process does not stop the handling of the case.

“We invite the public to continue following the developments in handling this case, especially since this case is very close to public interests,” he added.

It is known that I Wayan Eka Mariarta filed a praperadilan application against the KPK. I Wayan is challenging the validity of the seizure in the land dispute enforcement bribery case.

“Case classification: validity of the seizure,” as stated on the South Jakarta District Court Case Information Search System website as seen by detikcom on Tuesday (17/3).

This praperadilan application is registered under case number 38/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL. I Wayan, the former Chief Judge of Depok District Court, filed the praperadilan application on Wednesday (11/3).

The petitum of the praperadilan application has not yet appeared on the South Jakarta District Court SIPP website. The first praperadilan hearing is scheduled for Monday (30/3).

“Monday, 30 March 2026, first hearing agenda,” as stated on the South Jakarta District Court SIPP.
