KPK Respects Depok District Court Judge's Filing of Pre-Trial Lawsuit at South Jakarta District Court
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) respects the step taken by Depok District Court Judge I Wayan Eka Mariarta in filing a pre-trial lawsuit at the South Jakarta District Court.
“KPK respects the right of every party to pursue legal remedies, including the pre-trial filing by suspect IWEM (I Wayan Eka Mariarta) related to the alleged criminal act of corruption in the form of bribery in handling land dispute execution,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
Budi said that KPK has received the official report or notification from the South Jakarta District Court regarding the aforementioned pre-trial application.
At present, he said, KPK through its Legal Bureau has also submitted a request to postpone the trial to prepare the response material for the upcoming hearing.
Budi is confident that all investigative steps taken by KPK have followed procedures and are supported by sufficient valid evidence.
KPK also emphasised that the pre-trial process does not stop the handling of the case.
“We invite the public to continue following the developments in handling this case, especially since this case is very close to public interests,” he said.
According to the official website of the Case Search Information System (SIPP) of the South Jakarta District Court, I Wayan Eka Mariarta filed the pre-trial lawsuit regarding the validity of the seizure carried out by KPK in the bribery case for handling land disputes.
“Case Clarification: Validity of the investigation,” states the SIPP description of the South Jakarta District Court, quoted on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
He filed the pre-trial lawsuit on Wednesday (11/3/2026).
