KPK Reschedules Summons for Lawmaker Heri Gunawan and Wife

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has rescheduled the summons for House of Representatives (DPR) member Heri Gunawan and his wife, Kartini Buchari, to be examined as witnesses in a corruption case concerning the distribution of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds from Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The KPK previously stated that both had failed to comply with the summons earlier this week.

“The summoning of these witnesses is necessary to investigate the flow of funds and trace assets related to the alleged money laundering offence by HG (Heri Gunawan),” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Friday, explaining the urgency of rescheduling the two witnesses.

Furthermore, he said, neither Heri Gunawan nor Kartini Buchari provided any confirmation regarding their absence. In fact, he added, Heri Gunawan’s wife has now failed to appear twice without a clear reason.

“KB (Kartini Buchari) did not attend again and provided no explanation. Investigators have already issued a second summons for KB, and it is hoped she will be cooperative and comply with the summons,” he stated.

The KPK is currently investigating alleged corruption in the distribution of CSR funds or the alleged misuse of Bank Indonesia’s Social Programme (PSBI) and Financial Services Extension (PJK) funds for the 2020-2023 period. KPK investigators have searched several locations believed to contain evidence related to the case, including the Bank Indonesia building on Jalan Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on 16 December 2024, and the Financial Services Authority office on 19 December 2024.

On 7 August 2025, the anti-corruption agency named DPR Commission XI members for the 2019-2024 period, Satori (ST) and Heri Gunawan (HG), as suspects in the case. Both are currently serving as DPR members for the 2024-2029 period.
