KPK Requires Statement from Heri Black Following House Search on Monday
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) requires a statement from Heri Setiyono, alias Heri Black, following the search of the businessman’s home in Semarang, Central Java, by anti-corruption investigators on Monday (11/5).
Heri Black’s home was searched by the KPK as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance.
“Of course, the knowledge from the individual is needed to assist investigators in uncovering this case so that the roles of each party can be clarified,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.
Furthermore, Budi stated that the examination material for the import goods handling businessman is likely related to findings from the search of his home or statements from suspects or witnesses previously examined by the KPK.
“In the course of the investigation, investigators obtained information and statements not only from search activities but also from other information obtained from previous witness examinations or suspects,” he explained.
Heri Black was previously summoned by the KPK on 8 May 2026 but failed to comply or absconded.
In the operation, one of the parties secured was Rizal, Head of the West Sumatra Regional Customs Office.
A day after the raid, the KPK designated six out of 17 detained individuals as suspects in the alleged bribery and gratification case related to the import of counterfeit goods within Customs and Excise.
They are Rizal (RZL) as Director of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs and Excise from 2024 to January 2026, Head of Subdirectorate of Enforcement and Investigation Intelligence Sisprian Subiaksono (SIS), and Head of Customs Intelligence Section Orlando Hamonangan (ORL).
In addition, the KPK also designated John Field (JF), owner of Blueray Cargo; Andri (AND), Chairman of the Import Documentation Team of Blueray Cargo; and Dedy Kurniawan (DK), Operational Manager of Blueray Cargo, as suspects.
On 26 February 2026, the KPK again designated a new suspect, namely Budiman Bayu Prasojo (BBP), Head of Excise Intelligence Section of the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs and Excise.
Subsequently, on 27 February 2026, the KPK revealed it was delving into alleged corruption in excise handling after seizing Rp5.19 billion in cash in five suitcases from a house in Ciputat suspected to be related to the case.
On 11 May 2026, the KPK searched Heri Black’s home in Semarang and found several notes to electronic evidence. Following the search, the KPK also discovered attempts by external parties to hinder the Customs and Excise case investigation.
