Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has submitted a request for the postponement of the inaugural pretrial hearing of former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at the South Jakarta District Court, scheduled for Tuesday, 24 February 2026.

“The KPK, through its Legal Bureau, has filed for a postponement of today’s hearing,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement on Tuesday, 24 February 2026.

Budi explained that the request was made because the KPK’s legal team is concurrently attending four other pretrial hearings in parallel.

“Given that the team is simultaneously handling four other pretrial hearings,” he said.

It was previously reported that former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas had filed a pretrial motion challenging his designation as a suspect by the KPK in the alleged corruption case involving additional hajj quotas for the 2023–2024 pilgrimage seasons.

The pretrial motion was submitted by Yaqut to the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, and was registered under case number 19/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL.

“Case classification: the legality of the suspect designation,” as cited from the South Jakarta District Court’s Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

The SIPP portal of the South Jakarta District Court did not display the full petitum sought in the motion, and the identity of the single judge assigned to examine and adjudicate the case remained unknown.

“First hearing: Tuesday, 24 February 2026,” according to the South Jakarta District Court’s SIPP.
