The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that it briefly detained Suci Nitia Edwar, the second wife of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Suhardiman Amby, during a sting operation (OTT) at the end of June. However, Suci was released because her status is currently limited to that of an examined party or witness. “So, the second wife was indeed temporarily detained because when the team arrived at SA’s [Suhardiman’s] house, only his wife was there as a witness in this case,” said Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, during a press conference at his office in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/7). Taufik stated that Suci was intensively questioned regarding the bribe acceptance process carried out by her husband. The KPK has named Suhardiman, along with Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain and the Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant (MIC), Ardiles, as suspects in a bribery case related to job appointments. Suhardiman is also being processed for other alleged gratuities related to the release of a Limited Production Forest (HPT) area. The suspects are currently being detained for 20 days until 20 July 2026 at the KPK’s Red and White Building detention centre. Suhardiman, as the recipient, is suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or letter b and/or Article 12 B of the Corruption Eradication Law. Meanwhile, Zulkarnain and Ardiles, as the givers, are suspected of violating Article 605 or Article 606 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustments in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of the Criminal Code.
