KPK: Regent of Rejang Lebong Set Project Commissions of up to 15 Per Cent
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has stated that the Regent of Rejang Lebong, Muhammad Fikri Thobari (MFT), established project commissions in the Department of Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlements (PUPRPKP) of Rejang Lebong of approximately 10–15 per cent of project value.
KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu explained that the arrangement originated from a meeting between Fikri Thobari, a trusted aide with the initials BDA, and the head of the PUPRPKP Department Hary Eko Purnomo (HEP) at the Regent’s Official Residence in Rejang Lebong in February 2026.
“In that meeting, it is alleged that there was discussion regarding the arrangement or allocation of contractors for project work at the PUPRPKP Department for the 2026 financial year, including discussion of the fee (commission) amount of approximately 10–15 per cent of the project work value,” said Asep at KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He further stated that Fikri Thobari established the project commission at the PUPRPKP Department because he required funds.
Meanwhile, the PUPRPKP Department of Rejang Lebong was found to have a budget of up to Rp91.13 billion in 2026.
Previously, on 9 March 2026, the KPK arrested the Regent of Rejang Lebong Muhammad Fikri Thobari, Deputy Regent Hendri, and 11 others in a sting operation related to alleged bribery for projects within the Rejang Lebong Regency Government in Bengkulu.
